So the night before as I was nearly falling asleep, there was a loud thunderstorm that went on for about an hour. It felt like the gods were playing ten-pin bowling above my neighbourhood. 😱

It was probably a bit worse than usual because we've had ex-tropical cyclone Tam roaming over the North Island in the last few days. There's been rain and occasional howling winds but luckily the power didn't go off like it did further north.

No I don't like thunderstorms, how did you guess this.

I don't like them either, and I heard that one stayed in place for a long time and dumped more than a month's rain. I hope you weren't flooded.

Did you have a good birthday despite weather? It's not been very nice here either, but the sun came out yesterday so we grabbed the chance to go for a drive up the valley to look at autumn colours.

Yes, we got a lot of rain *twitches*. I didn't get flooded, but a friend across town did a bit, unfortunately. Another friend got a thunderstorm last night - I just heard a bit of distant thunder and then there was heavy rain later on. Today was calmer which was a relief.

I did catch up with some friends for my birthday, so that was nice. I'm glad you got to see some autumn colours. We're slowly getting some autumn leaves here now.
