In your own space, talk about your fannish origin story.

When I was a kid, I started watching Doctor Who during one of his regeneration stories and was drawn in straight away. I also liked the fact that he was quirky and didn't see the need to apologise for it (I went to a rural school at that time where you were expected to conform or else).

I can understand how the Doctor's regeneration stories and his quirkiness would be compelling, especially in an environment where the expectation is to conform. Thank you for sharing your story!

Thanks for that. After watching Doctor Who, you could never convince me that sci-fi was childish (although the show often featured made-in-five-minutes alien costumes 😄).

Those made in 5 mins costumes are the best 😂 it brought us the Daleks!
