Australian bushfire smoke

 As I write this, there is a weird, golden twilight outside even though it's the afternoon... the smoke and ash from the Australian bushfires finally reached my city at midday. :(

There's no smoky smell, so that's one good thing. I have a face mask I'm prepared to use just in case.

It's all very surreal and makes me feel more sorry for Australia.

The smoke has cleared today, but I've got bad hayfever. :(

I had heard that funds were cut to the Fire Service in Australia, which is dumb on so many levels. :/
