Fandom Snowflake Challenge #2
In your own space, talk about your fannish history.

Well, I was one of the Children of the '80's and my first involvement with fannish things was seeing Doctor Who at a young age (4th Doctor). After that, I watched anything sci-fi I could on TV, whether it was good or not - Buck Rogers, Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek, The Powers of Matthew Star etc. I saw my first Star Wars movie (Return of the Jedi) and was blown away.
I also read a lot - 'The Girl with the Silver Eyes' is a book I've never forgotten. The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, Narnia, Dragonriders of Pern. Dragonlance (anything with a dragon in it, actually). I belonged to a local sci-fi club which was great in those pre-Internet years.
I started writing fan fiction as a fan of Phantom of the Opera, then Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Harry Potter came along and I started writing HG / SS, which I do to this day.
In the late '90's I became a fan of the Exiles / Galactic Milieu books by Julian May and ended up becoming a moderator for its Yahoo Group (remember those?). I currently run a fan blog (Torcs and Timegates on DW) and I've done fan art for it.
If there's a sci-fi convention on in my city, I'll go to it. I've been to one World Con - Aussie Con 3 in 1999.
I recently became a fan of Lucifer (TV) and I'm currently writing fan fiction for it.
