Are you all right up there? The news is so awful about the flooding.

Hi, thanks, yes I'm ok. The kitchen ceiling leaked yesterday but it's ok now. Yesterday the rain was certainly... intense. Yes. It's fine today which is good but there's supposed to be round 2 of rain tonight, ugh. Feels weird to have Auckland in a State of Emergency, I can't remember the last time that happened for natural disaster reasons. The airport is open again after flooding but not for international travel. A flight path goes over my neighbourhood and I haven't heard any planes today.

I'm glad you're OK, and your house pretty much is. I've just been watching the news (which I rarely do). Yikes. The expression "attack rain" you used a while back doesn't begin to describe it.

I have to say, people who lost everything in their houses were so upbeat compared to the overseas complainers at the airport.

Thanks for that. It wasn't so much 'attack rain' in my area but relentless rain that just didn't stop for ages. :(

You could see a contrast between those two groups of people, yes.
